This scenic waterfall is high above Dan Yr Ogof showcaves on the Eastern side of the Black Mountain, Brecon Beacons.
Sgwd yr Eira has to be one of the most beautiful of all the waterfalls in Waterfall Country, Brecon Beacons. This waterfall is a little more difficult to reach than the falls in Pontneddfechan but is well worth the effort. It is located to the north west of Penderyn on the Afon Hepste.
This is a bit of a hidden gem that I had been meaning to visit for a while but never got around to. There is a series of waterfalls and cascades hidden on the western edge of the Black Mountain above Brynamman.
I have passed Sgwd Gwladys in waterfall country, Brecon Beacons, on many occasions on the way to Sgwd Einion Gam which is further upstream and a lot more inaccessible but, had never actually taken any photographs until this one.
This rather inaccessible waterfall is up the Afon Pryddin past Sgwd Gwladys. It is not marked on the visitor map in Pontneddfechan probably becauase of the difficulty involved in reaching it. The river needs to be crossed several times and should only be attempted when it has been dry for several days.
